Description
Human settlements in Gujarat can be traced back to the Stone Age period (Palaeolithic Mesolithic) in the valleys of the rive Sabarmati, Tapi, Narmada, Mahi and it tributaries. During the Protohistoric period i.e. approximately 5,000 years from tin present, Gujarat formed part of the earliest urban cultures with planned cities of the Harappa or Indus civilization which has beer studied using archaeological material in that absence of any deciphered written text data.
