The present work is a guide for those who want to learn application of geographic information system (GIS) in census studies with particular focus on workforce and social indicators. The book would be helpful for gender specialists, social scientists, economists, environmentalists, policy makers, and entrepreneurs who are interested in village level spatial analysis of census data. Book may also be used by those who have interest in socio-economy in biodiversity hot-spots. The book involves spatial analysis of 38 census variables for the year 1991, 55 variables for the year 2001 and 2011 each, and 30 variables which are used for the first time in 2011 census survey in India. The study also includes spatial analysis of indicators derived from the census variables. There are 62, 55, and 85 indicators for the years 1991, 2001, and 2011 respectively. Individual codes and expression (mathematical formula) are used for variables and indicators respectively, for the spatial analysis.
