Pharmacopœia of India Prepared Under the Authority of Her Majesty’s Secretary of State for India in Council

The “Pharmacopœia of India,” authorized by Her Majesty’s Secretary of State for India, serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it introduces Indian healthcare professionals to indigenous drugs endorsed by European experience, offering alternatives to imported ones. Secondly, it updates the 1844 Bengal Pharmacopoeia. Based on the British Pharmacopoeia, it provides practical information for India while incorporating vital specifics for the Indian Medical Department. Even drugs unsuitable for India’s tropical climate are included, ensuring comprehensive exposure for Indian students.
