An assessment has been attempted by the author in this work about the present status of knowledge Management for Indian Commercial Banking Sector by studying their structural, operational, technological, and administrative processes, and variegated products and services provided by them to their clientele. The findings so arrived have further been analyzed critically with a view to recommend the necessary framework for a ongoing effective knowledge Management System for this Sector. Major issues addressed being? Evaluating the technical efficiency with the help of growth productivity and profitability indicators ? Role of information system in knowledge Management. ?
