The author embarked on this endeavor in 1907, and alongside a period of residence in the Far East, they made several extensive visits to India. Additionally, they explored various countries that are the subject of discussion in this work, with the exception of Tibet. The primary aim of the author was to delve into the historical journey and evolution of Hinduism and Buddhism, focusing on their religious practices in India and beyond. Alongside this exploration, the author provides intermittent observations on the contemporary expressions and developments of these religions.
