Having discussed all the finer points with the concerned authorities in regard to this lengthy task, he was enabled to give himself greater freedom on the selection of the materials. The work in its present form includes, besides other materials, information obtained from the whole of the Tipitaka and all the commentaries thereon. There was also the difficulty of obtaining satisfactorily uniform editions of the Tikas. The author has deliberately avoided mention of Buddhist Sanskrit Texts as it is served to get the great mass of information. The subject of the book is very delicate and informative and immensely beneficial for the researchers, historians, analyst and readers.
