Three Innings chronicles the rich experiences of Krishna Kumar Bhatnagar in an unforgettable account of 65 years of life committed to the service of the country and society at large. His life has been full of events and situations which an ordinary person could never imagine. This book tries to recount all his experiences and episodes that shaped his life. It describes his extraordinary journey from his childhood to becoming an IAS officer, to consulting, to doing welfare work.

Keeping the schedule of cricket test match as a model, the author has charted this autobiography into Three Innings: First Inning (1938–1996), stretching from his childhood to his retirement from Civil Service; Second Inning (1997–2014), covering his consulting and assignments in Urban Development and other fields; and Third Inning (2012 and after), being his honorary work as President and Trustee, Jaipur Calgary Eye Hospital Trust Board.

This book is a result of author’s urge to share highlights from life with others who could benefit from the same. All those studying for the civil service examination or those who are currently in the civil services will find this enriching and a pleasant narrative.
