Plassey Se Naxalbari: Kisan Sangharshon Ka Itihaas

The process of land acquisition in ancestral Naga territory was set off through Colonial Acts and Regulations. Post Indian Independence, development-induced systematic process of land alienation accelerated whereby, any ‘development’ for the people is in reality at the cost of their traditional rights. This book explores the historical socio-political factors and contemporary cultural changes wrought by both external forces and internal dynamics in Nagaland.

Lanusashi Longkumeris a Human Rights activitst and an environementalist who has been associated with the Human rights movement in North-East India for more than twenty years. He is an executive member of the Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) and teaches Geography at Nagaland University.

Toshimenla Jamiris a senior Assistant Professor of Sociology at Nagaland University. She teaches Sociology of Gender and Environmental Sociology. She is an advocate for Gender rights and has contributed to the development of Gender Studies in the region.
