J.N. Dixit, Ambassador to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, former Foreign Secretary of India and former Member of the National Secutrity Advisory Board, has had a distinguished and varied career. After having served in the Indian Foreign Service for 36 years, from 1958 to 1994, he has been equally, if not more active, as an academic, a political colunminst and a consultant on political and security affairs during the last 8 years.
