HINDU SOCIOLOGY: Book I : Non-Political; Book II : Political

The work is mainly an analytical study of Sukracharya’s code so that the data of Hindu Sociology collected here reflect generally those phases of Indian cultural evolution which have influenced the authors of the Sukra cycle. This Hindu Sociology therefore is more or less a statical picture and represents chiefly such landmarks in the culture history of the Hindus as are embodied in the single document Sukraniti.
The present volume is divided into two books: (1) Non-Political and, (2) Political.

Benoy Kumar Sarkar (1887–1949), a Bengali social scientist and political activist who left India for several years on the eve of the First World War to become a leading anti-imperial intellectual with a global outlook. A pioneering thinker, Sarkar was a renaissance figure in pre-independence Bengal. Although he had degrees in English and History, he was a Professor of Economics at Calcutta University. He wrote over fifty books on social issues, art, philosophy, comparative religion and other topics.
