This glossary aims to contribute to a general and clear understanding of some of the frequently used terms and concepts related to women studies, gender studies or feminist studies and other social science studies. It addressed to the policymakers, researchers, students and anyone interested in such issues. It is acknowledged that the glossary is depends on the reader's understandings of these terms with their background and experiences. Moreover, a group of Women's Studies scholars held for discussing the scope of Women's Studies had defined its objectives as “Transformation of Spheres of Knowledge Production” through research, for changing the perspectives of the contribution of women in society as well as focus on women-centric issues in contemporary society.
Dr M. Eswari is working as the Research Associate in the Centre for Women's Studies, Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University), Gandhigram, Tamil Nadu, since 2010. She has completed her Master degree in Women's Studies and Computer Application from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, M.Phil in Women's Studies from Mother Teresa Women's University, Kodaikanal and PhD in Womens' Studies at The Gahigram Rural Institute(DTBU), Gandhigram. She has published an Edited Book and more than twenty Research Articles in International, National Journals and Chapters in Edited books. She has presented research papers in seminars and conferences at the national and international levels. She has also Coordinated a study on Child Marriage Practices among Thottianayakkar Community in Karur District while working as Field Executive in the AREDS, an NGO, earlier. Dr. Anji A, is working as a Teaching Faculty since 2015 in the Department and Research Centre for Women's Studies, Karnatak University Dharwad. He has been awarded a Doctoral Fellowship by ICSSR, New Delhi in Centre for Women's Studies, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul and M.Phil. in Women's Studies, Pondicherry University. He has gained solid teaching and research experience, providing me with a range of knowledge that will allow me to contribute towards the success of teaching and research team. He has worked as a Project Co-ordinator (2015) for ASMEA International Project in Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension, and also worked as a Project Fellow (2010) in Centre for Women's Studies. Since his PhD he has been identifying lots of inequalities in the society through Gender lens in India. Hence, he is having acquired good knowledge of gender issues and challenges through the gender lens as well as having a good number of publication 18 and Paper Presentations & Participation 53 in various levels, including Editor volumes” and Author of a Book in language Tamil, Editor of the books 05. He has also delivered invited lectures on Women's Issues and Challenges in Present Scenario in different academic institutions and also got one of the best Paper award 2018 for the “HEALTH CARE SERVICE IN TAMIL NADU: A MODEL FOR OTHER STATES” in the national level seminar. Moreover, he has been successfully guiding last five years to the M.A., and P.G. Diploma Women's Studies Students. He has been an active member in the various committees and associations in India and Abroad. His passion for research excellence will translate into both dedication and diligence for the work performed for the any organization at large development of society. Dr. M. H. Hullur is working as a Teaching Faculty since 2015 in the Department of Women's Studies and worked as a Teaching Faculty from 2012 in the Department of Sociology, Karnatak University Dharwad and worked as Guest Faculty in Kittle Arts College Dharwad from 2005 to 2008 and Completed her P.G. in Sociology, B.Ed., and P.G.D. in Women's Studies and Awarded PhD in 2012 on 'Women in Legal Profession', Karnatak University Dharwad. She is an Author of a Book “Black Coat Women: A Sociological Analysis of Problems and Prospects of Women in Legal Profession” and she has gained more than 12 years teaching and research experience at PG and UG level. Moreover, she has been successfully guiding M.A. and P.G. Diploma Women's Studies Students from since Nine years. She is having 22 publications at the National and International levels and above 50 Paper Presentations & Participation in various levels. She has been an active member in the various committees and associations in India.
