This book's central concept is 'simultaneous election. In the simplest way to put it, 'one nation, one election' means that all the elections in the country will happen simultaneously, i.e. the General elections, the State Assembly elections and the local body elections will take place in a synchronised manner. This work aims to give the reader a holistic understanding of the process and issues involved.
The perfectly curated chapterisation will explore the historical context of ONOE, legal impediments, arguments opposed to it, possible alternatives and contemporary analysis of the same with respect to other countries. In order to make readers aware of successful policies that are being implemented by other contemporary nations, there is a special chapter titled 'Lessons from the World' containing unique perspective from other nations of the world.
The approach adopted by countries like Germany, Sweden, South Africa, Belgium, Indonesia and the Philippines has been discussed in detail. The use of different technologies and methods while holding simultaneous elections in these countries is worth learning. It is the sincere belief of the author that well-informed masses nudge the country in the direction of security and stability and hence, the present work has been curated.
