Banaras Beyond The Badge is a captivating exploration of the mystical and cultural landscape of Varanasi. The book weaves together diverse narratives, showcasing the city's timeless wisdom, creative spirit, and enduring traditions. The book highlights the hidden gems of Banaras-Adi Shankaracharya, Swami Dayananda, and Kabir.

The book also delves into the sacred Vedic tradition of the Agnihotris. It showcases the extraordinary lane of Kabir Chourah-home to numerous Padma awardees. In another chapter, the book presents a hidden patriotism of Tawaifs. It also showcases the adventures and hard work of school and college students in championing Hindi language and the profound influence of Hindi literary giants and humorous poets on the cultural fabric of the city. The book explores the abode of actors-writers, the Hindi drama Nagari Natak Mandali, and Banaras Bhand Mandali, a folk art.

The book portrays the sacrifices of the sculptors, Paradeshi Tangawala's insights on the city's evolving transport, and how the university was built through the power of alms. It also highlights Galib's love for Kashi, the mystical world of the Aghoris, and the vibrancy of Holi. It even offers glimpses into the unique architecture of Kashi's liberating spaces-found nowhere else. Banaras Beyond The Badge is a testimony to the transformative power of the city, where ancient heritage merges with modern creativity, and every story whispers the secrets of the eternal.
